Commissioner David Burney has referred your email of March 17 to my office for review and reply.

First, I thank you for recognizing the department’s work in designing and constructing the referenced project. We also appreciate your sharing with us the genuine design concept of the compass rose. We have forwarded your recommendation to the Central Park Conservancy, the entity – now that the construction project has ended - responsible for maintenance and the architect of record, Olin Partnership for their consideration.

We will apprise you of the result of their review. We thank you for your input and interest in our project.
